Job Description
At Digikala, we are looking for a Sales Accounting Specialist (Non-Inventory) to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of sales accounting and financial operations across our Non-Inventory businesses.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end accounting and financial control of business lines such as Gift Cards, Digital Gold, Digital Silver, digital products and plans, and credit-sales projects. You will manage key account balances, reconciliations, receivables, settlements, and monthly closing activities while ensuring that business transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
Beyond day-to-day accounting activities, you will be expected to understand complex business flows, investigate financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and collaborate closely with Commercial, Treasury, Product, Technology, and Data teams to improve financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Accounting & Financial Control
Understand Non-Inventory business flows end-to-end and translate operational events into accurate accounting treatments and financial controls.
Review and control automated and manual accounting entries related to sales, purchases, customer advances, receivables, payables, backing assets, fees, settlements, and profit and loss.
Ensure transactions are accurately posted to the appropriate accounts and sub-ledgers across customers, organizations, and business partners.
Identify and investigate discrepancies across operational systems, Product reports, payment gateways, banks, counterparty records, and the General Ledger.
Follow up on posting errors, incomplete transactions, and missing or duplicate transactions, focusing on identifying and resolving root causes.
Account Reconciliation & Receivables
Own and monitor key account balances across assigned Non-Inventory business lines.
Perform periodic reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer advances, control accounts, settlements, and backing assets.
Prepare aging and roll-forward analyses and investigate aged, unusual, or unexplained balances.
Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate with Commercial, Treasury, and external counterparties to ensure timely collection.
Identify overdue balances and collection risks and escalate material issues in a timely manner.
Match collected funds against relevant invoices and transactions and ensure open items are accurately cleared.
Monthly Closing & Reporting
Execute monthly closing activities for assigned business lines in line with closing timelines and cut-off requirements.
Ensure the completeness and accuracy of sales, purchases, settlements, fees, and other relevant financial records before period closing.
Reconcile General Ledger balances with sub-ledgers and operational sources and document outstanding discrepancies.
Provide root-cause and variance analysis for significant financial movements and highlight relevant financial risks and action plans.
Prepare reliable supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
Product, Technology & Data Collaboration
Translate accounting and financial requirements into clear business requirements for Product and Technology teams.
Participate in the financial design of new products, features, and projects before Go-Live and assess their impact on accounting, reporting, and settlement processes.
Define financial acceptance criteria and participate in UAT from an accounting perspective.
Identify, document, prioritize, and follow up on financial system issues and bugs based on their financial impact.
Collaborate with BI and Data teams to validate reporting logic, establish reliable Sources of Truth, and reduce dependency on manual processes.
Process Improvement & Financial Governance
Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls, improve reconciliation processes, and reduce manual activities.
Develop and maintain financial process and control documentation to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
Design and monitor relevant control KPIs and simple dashboards to improve visibility over balances, receivables, discrepancies, and financial operations.
Proactively identify financial and operational risks, system limitations, and process gaps and follow through on corrective actions.
Key Performance Indicators
Timely and accurate reconciliation of key financial accounts.
Number, value, and resolution time of open financial discrepancies.
Timely collection of receivables and effective management of overdue balances.
Accurate and on-time completion of monthly closing activities.
Quality and reliability of financial reporting and variance analysis.
Timely identification and resolution of accounting-related system issues.
Reduction of manual processes through improved controls, automation, and system enhancements.
Accuracy and completeness of financial documentation and audit supporting records.
