About the Role

At Hami System Sharif, we build and operate large-scale national systems in payments, remote identity verification, and capital markets, systems that serve hundreds of thousands of users and demand the highest standards of reliability and security. We are looking for a strong Engineering Manager to lead one of our engineering teams and help it deliver consistently and grow.
In this role, we expect you to own the people, delivery, and technical quality of your team: run the team's planning and execution, coach and develop engineers, keep delivery predictable against product and client commitments, and stay close enough to the code to guide design decisions and unblock the team when needed.
We are looking for a leader who has grown from a strong engineer, enjoys developing people as much as building systems, brings structure without bureaucracy, and takes ownership of outcomes in a regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend, frontend, and QA engineers and own its delivery, quality, and health
• Run the team's Agile cadence: sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Translate product roadmap items into technical plans, milestones, and clear ownership within the team
• Coach and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, goal setting, and performance reviews
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews and guide the team toward sound architecture and clean, maintainable code
• Remove blockers and manage dependencies with other teams, DevOps, and external systems
• Track and improve delivery metrics such as cycle time, predictability, and defect rate
• Ensure reliability, security, and compliance practices are followed in the team's work, in line with the requirements of supervisory bodies
• Own technical debt for the team's services and plan refactoring and upgrades alongside feature work
• Participate in hiring: define needs, interview candidates, and onboard new engineers
• Coordinate releases and production support for the team's services together with DevOps and SRE
• Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to product management, the Director of Engineering, and the CTO
• Document team processes, service ownership, and technical decisions
• Continuously improve the team's processes, tools, and engineering practices

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year leading a team as a manager or tech lead
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on background in at least one of the Java, Python, or .NET ecosystems, with the ability to review code and contribute to design
• Solid understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Agile delivery, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD practices
• Experience coaching engineers, giving feedback, and managing performance
• Strong planning and prioritization skills and the ability to keep delivery predictable under changing requirements
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A strong sense of ownership for reliability and quality in production systems
• Proficiency in Office and Google Workspace tools
• Working knowledge of English for reading technical resources and professional communication

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, identity verification, or capital-market systems
• Familiarity with the technical and security requirements of supervisory bodies such as the Central Bank, Shaparak, and the Securities and Exchange Organization
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tooling
• Experience integrating with external systems such as banks, PSPs, or government organizations
• Experience building a team or an engineering practice from an early stage
• Experience working in growing organizations or fast-paced environments
