We’re looking for a hands-on Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our marketing automation platform. You will test customer journeys, segmentation, campaigns, event processing, APIs, integrations, and analytics—while building automation that gives the team confidence to release quickly and safely.
Responsibilities
Own the QA strategy, test planning, and release-quality process for the platform.
Design and execute functional, regression, exploratory, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
Build and maintain automated tests for frontend, backend APIs, asynchronous workflows, and critical customer journeys.
Test core marketing automation capabilities: audience segmentation, event-triggered campaigns, workflow logic, scheduling, personalization, consent, unsubscribe behavior, delivery retries, and reporting.
Validate integrations such as email, SMS, push notifications, webhooks, and third-party providers.
Identify, document, prioritize, and verify defects with clear reproduction steps and business impact.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve release quality gates.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, data engineers, and SRE/DevOps teams.
Test reliability concerns in distributed systems, including retries, duplicate events, idempotency, race conditions, delayed processing, and eventual consistency.
Support performance, load, security, and data-quality testing for critical workflows.
Mentor junior QA engineers and promote a strong quality culture across the engineering team.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in software QA or QA automation.
Strong experience testing SaaS web applications, APIs, and backend services.
Hands-on automation experience using TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or a similar language.
Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, Bruno, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, asynchronous processing, and event-driven systems.
Experience with SQL, database validation, debugging logs, and investigating production-like issues.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
Ability to create risk-based test plans and make informed release-readiness recommendations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with marketing automation, CRM, CDP, customer engagement, or multi-tenant SaaS products.
Experience with Temporal, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other workflow and event-streaming technologies.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, GitOps, and cloud-native infrastructure.
Experience with k6, JMeter, or other performance-testing tools.
Knowledge of observability tools, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and monitoring dashboards. - Experience testing privacy, consent management, RBAC, tenant isolation, and security-sensitive workflows.
What Success Looks Like
You will help us ship reliable features faster by improving automated test coverage, reducing production defects, strengthening CI/CD quality gates, and ensuring that campaigns, workflows, customer data, and message delivery behave correctly at scale.
