Responsibilities A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) specialist acts as a company’s ‘conscience’, championing and developing the ethical, environmentally-friendly, and community-minded side of a business. The job involves creating links between a business and the community, raising positive awareness of the organization’s commitment to sustainable social responsibility. This position is responsible for working closely with the CSR and PR Managers to help further our social responsibility, mission and differentiate our brand as socially responsible. This position will also help engage the brand in new campaigns and social causes, as well as coordinating and executing existing campaigns, programs that align with the corporation’s business objectives.
Developing and executing CSR programs as well as conducting periodic program reviews to assess outcomes and effectiveness
Increasing public awareness of a company’s social responsibility commitments through marketing
Reaching out to the public through public relations and marketing to convey the company’s commitment to social responsibility
Conducting research into best practice
Fostering connections between the company and other organizations such as charities
Ensuring that a company’s policies fulfil legal and commercial requirements
Reporting on social responsibility activities to top management
Collaborating with the marketing department on companies branding ideas
Driving budget & monitoring spending to deliver results in line with planned objectives
Requirements
Master’s Degree in public Relations, social science, Communications or a related field
2-3 years relevant CSR or PR experience
A passion for corporate social responsibility and sustainability
Logical and analytical thinking skills
Sensitivity and understanding
Knowledge of how businesses operate
Previous experience in a comparable capacity
Knowledge of the norms and regulations regulating Charities and best CSR practices
Excellent communication abilities and the capacity to reduce complex information into simple messages and audience-appropriate communication materials
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams, departments and levels
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Finance and accounting experience a plus
