About the Position

Procurement specialists aim to negotiate favourable terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings for the organization. This includes securing competitive prices for IT hardware, software, and services. They should strategically identify and engage with reliable IT suppliers. They assess the market, source quality products and services and build long-term relationships with vendors to meet the organization's needs. The role involves streamlining procurement processes, ensuring efficiency, and minimizing unnecessary costs. This includes evaluating and improving workflows, from requisition to payment.


Responsibilities

  • Efficient management of contracts is crucial. Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements. Also, monitor contract performance and address issues as they arise.
  • Actively identify and mitigate risks associated with procuring IT goods and services. This involves assessing supplier reliability, managing potential disruptions, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies is a key responsibility. This includes compliance with internal purchasing guidelines and external regulations affecting procurement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with IT suppliers is essential. Work closely with vendors to understand their capabilities, negotiate favourable terms, and address any issues that may arise during the business relationship.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that IT products and services meet the organization's quality standards. you have to play a role in evaluating and selecting suppliers based on their ability to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensuring that IT products and services are delivered on time is critical. Coordinate with suppliers to establish delivery timelines and monitor adherence to these schedules.
  • Clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, finance, and management, is crucial. Provide regular updates on procurement activities, address concerns, and facilitate collaboration.
