About the Role:

The Engineering Director’s mission is to lead and grow the software engineering teams—including backend, frontend, and QA—to deliver reliable and high-performance systems. This role exists to ensure seamless, secure, and scalable experiences for a rapidly growing customer base. The Engineering Manager will drive technical excellence, foster collaboration, and execute complex projects that strengthen Snapp Pay’s product ecosystem and create exceptional value for our users.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-performance, scalable systems that ensure reliability, security, and an excellent customer experience across millions of transactions.
Lead and grow cross-functional engineering teams (backend, frontend, QA) to build strong collaboration, technical ownership, and consistent delivery of business-critical features.
Define and execute the technical roadmap, aligning engineering efforts with product and business objectives to accelerate growth and innovation.
Improve engineering efficiency and quality by establishing clear development processes, coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Ensure system reliability and uptime, maintaining at least 99.9% availability through effective monitoring, incident management, and continuous optimization.
Drive technical excellence and evolve system architecture to support rapid user growth and seamless integration with new products—without performance degradation.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with Product and Business teams to translate customer and market needs into impactful, high-quality product releases.

Requirements:

Technical Leadership – Demonstrates a strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and modern engineering practices across Java backend and React frontend.
Strategic Thinking – Aligns technical decisions and roadmap with long-term business and product objectives for the Wallet and Merchant Panel team.
Execution & Delivery – Consistently drives projects to completion on time and with high quality through effective planning, prioritization, and risk management.
Team Building & Mentorship – Attracts, develops, and retains top engineering talent while fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
Communication Skills – Communicates clearly and persuasively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; ensures transparency on progress, challenges, and trade-offs.
Quality & Reliability Focus – Champions engineering excellence, robust testing, and continuous improvement to maintain system reliability and performance.
Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking – Approaches complex technical and organizational challenges with structured reasoning and data-driven decisions.
Change Management – Guides the team effectively through organizational, technical, or process transitions with minimal disruption.
