UI/UX Designer - Job Skills and Requirements

We are seeking a talented and creative UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a passion for user experience, and the ability to transform complex requirements into intuitive and visually appealing designs. Below are the required skills and qualifications for this role:


Required Skills:

  1. User-Centred Design:
    • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
    • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and creating user personas and journey maps.
  2. Visual Design:
    • Expertise in visual design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, and iconography.
    • Proficiency in creating high-fidelity designs and prototypes using Figma.
  3. Interaction Design:
    • Ability to design intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance user experience.
    • Experience in creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed UI specifications.
  4. User Research and Testing:
    • Skilled in planning and conducting user research sessions, interviews, and surveys.
    • Ability to analyse and interpret research data to inform design decisions and improve usability.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback to iterate and improve designs.
  6. Problem-Solving:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify design challenges and develop effective solutions.
    • Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
  7. Attention to Detail:
    • Keen eye for detail to ensure pixel-perfect designs and a consistent user experience.
    • Commitment to delivering high-quality design work within project timelines.
  8. Agile and Iterative Design:
    • Experience working in an Agile environment and ability to iterate designs based on user feedback and changing requirements.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, processes, and workflows.
  9. Portfolio:
    • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI/UX design projects, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving skills, and user-centred design approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
