We are currently looking for scientific content developers to create written education material targeted to undergraduate students. Science that is relevant includes material from these undergraduate courses:
Two semesters of introductory general chemistry
Two semesters of introductory organic chemistry
One semester of introductory biochemistry
Introductory undergraduate-level biology (Genetics, Evolution and Population Genetics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, etc.)
Introductory psychology and sociology
Kindly do not apply if you lack powerful written English knowledge. This position would be suitable for students of the mentioned fields mostly.
Science Writer Responsibilities:
Write articles (500-5000 words) that explain scientific concepts at an undergraduate level. Important concepts, key words, and a scaffold for the article will be provided ahead of time. Ideally, the individual will also be able to sketch any visual aids that they believe are suitable for the article.
Edit submitted work according to feedback. Feedback may include suggestions regarding grammar, presentation, and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, MD, or PhD preferred) in any life science, psychology, or social science field with a focus on physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physiology, psychology, and sociology.
(Required) Strong English skills and attention to grammar.
(Required) Detail oriented, excellent written communication skills, strong writing skills
(Strongly preferred) Intention to develop role into a long term position
(Preferred) Previous experience writing for a standardized test
(Preferred) Desire and ability to work on other types of scientific content projects (which may not be question-writing) as needed
