At Dornika, we are looking for a Backend Developer (Node.js) to help us develop and improve our products. We are looking for a skilled, responsible, and problem-solving-oriented developer who can contribute to backend services and work closely with the technical team to analyze challenges and find effective solutions.
What will you focus on?
Developing and improving backend services and implementing new product features.
Analyzing technical problems, selecting appropriate solutions, and contributing to system design and architecture improvements.
Optimizing performance, service reliability, and database queries.
Integrating internal and external services and systems.
Investigating and resolving production issues.
Participating in code reviews and improving code quality, maintainability, and structure.
Working on real-world production systems and collaborating within a team-based software development process.
Skills and tools that matter to us:
2–5 years of professional backend development experience, including working on real-world production projects.
A solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns, with the ability to analyze problems and choose appropriate technical solutions.
Experience working with databases and optimizing queries.
Familiarity with caching, queues, and asynchronous processing.
Hands-on experience with GitLab is required. We expect you to be familiar with a real-world collaborative software development workflow: Issue → Development → Code Review → Merge → Release. We value practical experience working within a team development process, not just familiarity with the tool.
Experience with microservice architecture, message brokers, or event-driven systems is a plus.
Professional experience in AI and AI-powered products, or experience working on high-traffic or large-scale systems, is also a plus.
What matters to us in this role:
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Responsibility and a sense of ownership.
Attention to code quality and maintainability.
Teamwork and effective communication.
A commitment to continuous learning and growth.
We are looking for a developer who does more than simply execute tasks—someone who actively contributes to understanding problems, choosing the right solutions, implementing them, and continuously improving the system.
