Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Performance

Manage, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server databases in Production environments.
Ensure database availability, performance, reliability, and security.
Troubleshoot and optimize queries, execution plans, indexes, and database resources.
Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.
Monitor and resolve database performance issues, including blocking and deadlocks.

Database Operations & Infrastructure

Design and maintain Backup, Restore, and Recovery procedures and ensure data recoverability.
Monitor database health, storage, capacity, and resource utilization.
Support database maintenance, SQL Server Agent jobs, upgrades, and migrations.
Troubleshoot Production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and database standards.

Data & BI Support

Support Data Warehouse environments and database structures for analytical workloads.
Maintain and troubleshoot SSIS/ETL processes and data integration workflows.
Support SSRS and other SQL Server reporting environments.
Collaborate with BI, Data, Infrastructure, Application, and Information Security teams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of relevant professional experience, including strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server Administration and T-SQL.
Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of Backup, Restore, Recovery, Security, and Access Management.
Practical experience with SSIS/ETL and Data Warehouse concepts.
Familiarity with SSRS and Business Intelligence environments.
Knowledge of database monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning is an advantage.
High sense of responsibility, ownership, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

Experience in Database Administration (DBA) for enterprise and business-critical database environments.
Strong knowledge of database security, access control, permissions, auditing, and security best practices.
Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, high availability, and data loss prevention strategies.
Experience in monitoring and maintaining databases supporting OLAP, Data Warehouse, and ETL environments.
Ability to monitor database health, performance, storage, availability, and capacity.
Experience with database maintenance, automation, scheduling, and administrative scripting.
Familiarity with SSAS, ETL platforms, and Power BI Report Server databases from an administration and infrastructure perspective.
Experience managing production databases with a focus on stability, availability, security, and data integrity.
