About the Team

Dataak (دیتاک) runs a large-scale social media and web harvesting platform, collecting and processing Persian-language data at high volume. Our Data / Harvesting Platform squad builds the scraping bots, streaming pipelines, and data stores that power our dashboards, chatbot, bulletins, and alerting products. We're looking for a Data QA Engineer to own data quality and pipeline reliability across this squad's entire surface — from the bots that harvest raw data to the ETL pipelines and services that process it.

What You'll Do

Own the quality of data flowing through the squad's scraping bots, ETL pipelines, and internal services — validating correctness, completeness, and consistency end to end.
Design and execute test plans and test scenarios for scrapers, ETL jobs, and backend services, covering functional, regression, and edge-case testing.
Investigate data anomalies and pipeline failures, isolate root causes, and drive issues to resolution with the responsible engineers.
Build and maintain monitoring dashboards (Elasticsearch, Grafana) to track data freshness, volume, and pipeline health.
Set up and tune alerting/alarm rules to catch data issues and pipeline failures early, before they reach production consumers.
Manage bug and incident tracking for the squad — logging, prioritizing, following up, and verifying fixes.
Continuously follow up on data quality trends over time, flagging regressions and recurring failure patterns.
Collaborate closely with data engineers to define acceptance criteria and quality gates for new bots, ETLs, and pipeline changes.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of experience in a QA/test engineering role, ideally including data-heavy or backend/pipeline systems.
Solid grounding in QA principles and practices: test planning, test case/scenario design, functional and regression testing, bug lifecycle management.
Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, or data-producing services (not just UI/application testing).
Comfort working with Elasticsearch — querying, validating data, and building dashboards/visualizations.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar).
Experience with bug tracking and incident management workflows (e.g., Jira or similar).
Working knowledge of SQL and comfort inspecting data in at least one database.
Basic scripting ability (Python preferred) for writing test scripts and validation checks.
Strong sense of ownership — someone who follows an issue through to resolution rather than just reporting it.
Strong soft skills: clear communication, reliability, and a high sense of responsibility when working across a technical team.

Nice to Have

Experience with web scraping/bot testing (anti-bot changes, schema drift, rate-limit handling).
Familiarity with Kafka or other streaming systems.
Experience with automated testing frameworks (pytest or similar) for pipeline/data validation.
