Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)
About the Role
At Kebrin, we’re looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Golang skills to build and maintain the services behind our cryptocurrency exchange.
You’ll work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable backend features, improve system performance, and contribute to architectural decisions. This is a hands-on role with ownership from technical design through production.
We value thoughtful use of AI development tools to support coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, with engineers taking responsibility for the quality and correctness of their work.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Golang.
- Own backend features from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver reliable features.
- Contribute to system design, database modeling, service architecture, and integrations.
- Investigate production issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and improve service reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Help reduce technical debt and improve engineering standards and development workflows.
- Participate in Agile planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency while reviewing and validating their output.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of backend development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Golang.
- Experience building and maintaining production backend services.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend system design.
- Practical experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing, and maintainable code design.
- Experience debugging complex issues and improving system performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and ownership of your work.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants, with the ability to critically evaluate generated code.
Nice to Have
- Experience with fintech, cryptocurrency exchanges, trading platforms, or transactional systems.
- Experience building or operating high-traffic and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with message brokers, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Experience contributing to technical documentation and engineering process improvements.

- Reliable backend features delivered against agreed scope and timelines.
- Measurable improvements in performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Production issues investigated thoroughly, with fixes that address their underlying causes.
