About HICH

HICH, a UK-based market research platform, runs HICHAPP, a social polling network with 1M users and 1.5M daily votes. What We're Looking For?

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with solid Golang expertise who’s also comfortable diving into our existing PHP codebase. As a growing startup, we highly value adaptability and a problem-solving mindset. You’ll work on migrating legacy components to a modern microservices architecture, while occasionally supporting DevOps tasks on AWS

Requirements

  1. Full-Time Commitment: Availability during core hours; no concurrent job or full-time studies.

  2. Remote & English Proficiency: Able to work effectively with a global team and communicate fluently in English.
  3. Strong Golang Experience: Comfortable building production-grade services.
  4. Strong Software Experience: At least 8 years of professional full-time software engineering experience
  5. Working Knowledge of PHP: Enough to maintain and refactor legacy code.
  6. Databases & Caching: Proficiency with MySQL/ClickHouse, Redis.
  7. Message Queues: Experience with Kafka or similar.
  8. Basic DevOps Familiarity: Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
(We do not require a specific educational degree; real-world skills and coding ability matter most.)


Compensation & Benefits

  • 3-Month Trial: Around €1500/month (±20%) depending on skills and negotiation.

  • Post-Trial Increase: Potential salary increase after the 3-month trial, based on performance and team fit.
  • Seasonal Reviews: Each season, we conduct performance evaluations that may lead to further raises, potentially reaching up to double the initial rate over time.
  • Remote Work: Five-day workweek (Sunday–Thursday), fully from anywhere.
  • On-Call Compensation: Additional payment for scheduled support shifts.
  • Flexible Onboarding: If you need transition time from a current job, we can discuss a short part-time overlap.
