Senior Backend Architect

Remote | Full Time

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Architect to help build and scale modern AI driven software systems and operational platforms

This role is for a senior engineer who can both architect systems and actively build production quality backend applications

Requirements

10+ years of verifiable backend development experience
Experience working at large startups or well known technology companies
Strong experience with NodeJS TypeScript and NET Core
Strong understanding of backend architecture and scalable system design
Experience with microservices distributed systems event driven architecture and serverless systems
Strong AWS experience including Lambda API Gateway SQS SNS CloudWatch RDS and DynamoDB
Strong understanding of APIs webhooks integrations queues caching and database architecture
Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and engineering best practices
Experience with CQRS dependency injection clean architecture DDD repository pattern and scalable SaaS architecture patterns
Good understanding of React NextJS and frontend backend interaction patterns
Experience leading developers reviewing code and defining engineering standards
Experience managing technical teams and coordinating development workflows

AI Assisted Development Requirements

Extensive experience using AI for software development
Daily usage of Claude Code Cursor GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding tools
Strong understanding of how to use AI to accelerate development architecture debugging refactoring and documentation
Ability to structure AI assisted engineering workflows for teams
Understanding of prompt engineering and AI driven development workflows

Nice to Have

Experience with SaaS platforms
Experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation
Experience with CRM and operational systems
Experience building internal tools and automation platforms
Startup experience in fast moving environments

We are looking for someone who can think structurally write high quality production code lead engineering decisions mentor developers and use modern AI workflows as a core part of software development
