Description

Wallex Company is looking for a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of our comprehensive data platform, which includes data warehousing, real-time streaming, and big data analytics solutions. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, reliable, and scalable operation of our data ecosystem, enabling our organization to make informed decisions and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines (both batch and real-time) to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources.
Design, implement, and optimize data warehouse and data lake architectures based on business and analytical requirements.
Develop and maintain analytical data models to support efficient querying, reporting, and BI dashboards.
Collaborate closely with Data Science and Analyst teams to build and support large-scale data processing solutions using distributed processing frameworks.
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and data analysis requirements.
Implement and manage workflow orchestration and scheduling tools to ensure the timely and reliable execution of data processes.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency by implementing robust data models, schemas, and validation processes.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively troubleshoot pipeline performance and ensure the high availability of the data platform.
Support and maintain the necessary infrastructure for data services and participate in implementing automation and deployment (DataOps) processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Software Engineering, Analytics) to identify data requirements, understand business objectives, and develop solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering and big data, and proactively propose improvements to our data ecosystem.
Be available 24/7 in case of emergency

Requirements:

At least 3 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with both relational (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP / Columnar) database systems.
Hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using various tools and programming languages (especially Python and SQL-based transformation tools).
Experience with big data technologies, including distributed processing frameworks and data lake storage solutions (e.g., Object Storage).
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), and database design.
Experience with workflow orchestration tools for scheduling and managing complex data pipelines.
Familiarity with real-time data streaming technologies and event-driven architectures is a significant plus.
Experience with BI and data visualization tools to empower end-users.
Familiarity with infrastructure automation, containerization, and CI/CD processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with federated query engines for querying heterogeneous data sources is a plus.
