We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Jira Administrator to manage, optimize, and continuously improve our Jira ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining system stability, supporting users, designing efficient workflows, implementing automation, and building insightful dashboards to enhance operational efficiency across teams.
You will work closely with Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure Jira supports business processes effectively while delivering an excellent user experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Jira Administration & Maintenance
Manage day-to-day administration of Jira (Cloud or Data Center)
Monitor system performance and ensure platform stability and availability
Manage users, roles, groups, and permission levels
Perform system configuration, upgrades, updates, and optimization activities
Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability
2. User Support & Enablement
Respond to user requests, incidents, and technical issues related to Jira
Troubleshoot and resolve system and workflow-related problems
Train users and create clear support documentation and guides
Continuously improve user experience by identifying and removing process bottlenecks
3. Process Design & Workflow Development
Analyze operational and cross-functional team requirements
Design and implement new Jira workflows aligned with business needs
Improve existing processes to increase efficiency and visibility
Create and manage custom fields, screens, issue types, schemes, and configurations
4. Automation & System Enhancement
Build and maintain automation rules to reduce manual work
Work with plugins and extensions such as:
ScriptRunner
Automation for Jira
Insight / Assets
Other relevant Jira marketplace apps
Evaluate and recommend new tools, integrations, and platform improvements
5. Reporting & Dashboard Development
Design and maintain management dashboards
Build analytical reports for operational and leadership teams
Optimize filters and advanced JQL queries for reporting efficiency
Provide insights to support data-driven decision-making
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
2–3+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator
Strong expertise in Jira Cloud or Data Center
Deep understanding of:
Workflows
Permission Schemes
Screen Schemes
Issue Type Schemes
Experience supporting Jira users across teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent documentation and process-writing skills
Ability to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Jira solutions
Nice to Have
Experience with Confluence administration
Hands-on experience with Jira Automation
Experience with ScriptRunner or similar advanced plugins
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
Experience working in an operations-heavy environment
