Snapp Grocery, a leading online supermarket, is seeking an experienced and strategic Merchandising Manager to oversee our Fresh Category. This role is crucial for ensuring we deliver the best selection of fresh produce, dairy, meat, and other perishable goods while maintaining optimal margins and service levels. The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring product assortment, margin targets, and service levels align with customer demands and company objectives. The role involves close collaboration with the planning and finance teams to align category performance with overall business goals.
Responsibilities
1.Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Fresh Category that aligns with company goals, ensuring a balanced focus on assortment, margin optimization, and service levels.
2.Assortment Planning: Curate and manage the product assortment by analyzing market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to ensure a competitive and appealing selection.
3. Margin Management: Monitor and optimize category margins by managing product costs, pricing strategies, and promotional activities. Work closely with the finance team to ensure the category meets profitability targets.
4. Service Level Optimization: Collaborate with the planning and logistics teams to maintain high service levels, ensuring product availability, timely deliveries, and minimal stockouts or overstock situations.
5. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery schedules. Negotiate terms and contracts to enhance margins and service reliability.
6. Pricing and Promotions: Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans that drive category growth, balancing competitive pricing with margin objectives and service level requirements.
7. Performance Analysis: Regularly review category performance in terms of sales, margins, service levels, and customer satisfaction. Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and achieve continuous improvement.
8. Customer Experience Enhancement: Ensure that the Fresh Category consistently delivers a top-tier customer experience by addressing feedback and making necessary adjustments to the product offerings.
9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with planning, finance, marketing, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations and alignment with overall company objectives.
10. Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor actions, and consumer behavior to inform category decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
