Job Purpose
The Fraud Prevention Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing fraud risk management frameworks to prevent, detect, and respond to fraudulent activities. This role ensures the organisation’s assets, reputation, and stakeholders are protected through strong controls, analytics, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fraud Risk Management
Develop and maintain the organisation’s fraud risk assessment framework.
Identify emerging fraud risks across operations, finance, procurement, sales, and digital channels.
Maintain a fraud risk register and mitigation plans.
2. Prevention & Control Design
Design and implement anti-fraud policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Review business processes to identify control gaps and vulnerabilities.
Work with management to strengthen preventive and detective controls.
3. Detection & Monitoring
Establish fraud monitoring systems and red-flag indicators.
Use data analytics to detect suspicious patterns and anomalies.
Oversee transaction monitoring and exception reporting.
4. Investigation & Response
Lead or supervise fraud investigations.
Collect, analyse, and document evidence.
Coordinate with Legal, HR, Compliance, and law enforcement when required.
Prepare investigation reports and recommendations.
5. Governance & Reporting
Report fraud incidents, trends, and key risk indicators to senior management and committees.
Support Board and Audit Committee reporting.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance standards.
6. Awareness & Training
Design and deliver fraud awareness programmes for employees.
Promote ethical culture and whistleblowing mechanisms.
Support management in embedding anti-fraud practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s or above degree in Accounting, Management, Industrial Engineering, IT, or related fields
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
At least 3 years in Risk Management or related functions
Professional risk management certifications are an advantage.
