Java Backend Developer / Problem Solver

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer/Problem Solver to join our technology team. This unique role is not just another coding job; it's an opportunity to become a key component of our organization. Our ideal candidate should not only have profound knowledge of Java and backend technologies but also exhibit a strong problem-solving ability with a knack for identifying and resolving complex issues. This individual will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining backend components, as well as leveraging their technical skills to provide effective solutions to organizational challenges.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze, design, and implement complex software solutions using Java and associated technologies.

2. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across our development and production systems.

3. Use your problem-solving skills to identify system bottlenecks and performance issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.

4. Work collaboratively with the team to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.

5. Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.

6. Liaise with Product development team to plan new features and provide estimates.

7. Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc.

Qualifications:

1. Extensive experience as a Backend Developer using Java, ideally in a problem-solving capacity.

2. In-depth knowledge of Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, etc.

3. experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g., Apache) .

4. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently to drive issues to resolution.

5. Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.

6. Good knowledge of version control systems, like Git.

7. Strong team player with good communication and presentation skills.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with other programming languages.

2. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

3. Certifications that validate a good knowledge of Java and backend development.

4. Proven track record of successfully deploying and maintaining complex software systems.

5. Experience working with financial and banking systems
