Job Title: Product Design Lead

SabaTech | Where Technology Shapes the Future of Social Protection Systems

 About the Role:

As Product Design Lead at SabaTech, you will own the end-to-end design vision and execution across our products. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers while working closely with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to ensure design excellence at scale.

Job Purpose:

§  Define and own the product design vision and strategy aligned with Sabatech’s business goals and user needs.

§  Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product designers, fostering a culture of ownership, craft excellence, and continuous learning.

§  Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data, and other stakeholders to shape product direction from discovery to delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

§  5+ years of product design experience, at least 2+ years in leadership

§  Strong product thinking with a bias toward action

§  Possess in-depth knowledge of current design industry practices and trends.

§  Experience in Fintech and B2B tools products is a plus.

Technical Skills

§  Advanced proficiency in Figma (or equivalent design tools).

§  Excellent visual design skills (typography, color theory, layout, iconography).

§  Establish and evolve design systems, processes, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability.

§  Ability to design developer-friendly assets for Android, iOS, and web environments.

§  Extensive experience designing complex enterprise panels and dashboards.

§  Component-first mindset with hands-on experience creating and maintaining design systems.

§  Strong proficiency with analytics and user behavior tools.

§  Clearly hand-off and present design processes, decisions, and rationales to stakeholders.

Soft Skills

§  Experience leading design initiatives or teams, with a mindset focused on mentorship, process improvement, and design excellence.

§  Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

§  Comfort making trade-offs and working under time pressure.

§  User empathy with a problem-solving mindset and openness to feedback.

§  Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

§  Demonstrated user research capabilities and the ability to articulate design decisions that balance user needs with business objectives.

§  A continuous learner with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
