شرح موقعیت شغلی

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior VMware Virtualization Engineer to take ownership of the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our VMware-based virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on expertise in VMware NSX and vSAN, a strong understanding of data center networking, and the ability to independently manage all virtualization-related operations in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage virtualization infrastructure based on VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter Server).
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot virtual networks using VMware NSX, including logical switching, distributed routing, distributed firewall, Edge services, load balancing, and micro-segmentation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSAN, including storage policies, stretched clusters, and capacity and performance management.
  • Manage the infrastructure lifecycle, including upgrades, patch management, and hardening according to VMware best practices.
  • Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization of compute, storage, and network resources.
  • Design and implement high availability, DRS, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Plan and execute workload migrations between clusters and data centers.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and DevOps teams to integrate and evolve the infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure layers and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design documents, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with junior team members.
Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization in enterprise environments.
  • Expert knowledge of VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion).
  • Mandatory: Expert-level, hands-on experience with VMware NSX (NSX-T / NSX).
  • Mandatory: Expert-level, hands-on experience with VMware vSAN.
  • Broad experience across the VMware product portfolio is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of data center networking protocols and concepts, including VLAN, VXLAN/Geneve, BGP, OSPF, LACP, STP, VRRP, MTU and jumbo frames, spine-leaf architecture, and familiarity with EVPN.
  • Solid understanding of storage concepts such as SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and NFS.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data center server hardware (e.g., HPE, Dell, Lenovo).
  • Ability to automate routine tasks using PowerCLI scripting.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional VMware products such as VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Aria Suite (formerly vRealize), Site Recovery Manager (SRM), HCX, Horizon, and Tanzu.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and Linux server administration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, VCAP, or VCIX.

  • High sense of ownership and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation when required.
