Job Requirements:

  • Education & Certification: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 
    • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4 or higher). 
  • Experience: 
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in information security with a strong focus on firewall management and Web Application Firewalls (WAF). 
    • Extensive experience with Fortinet security products, especially FortiGate firewalls and FortiWeb WAF. 
    • Proven experience in incident response, including detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery. 
    • Hands-on experience in configuring and managing security devices, with a deep understanding of network security principles. 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Proficient in Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiWeb, and FortiAnalyzer. 
    • Strong knowledge of firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and content filtering. 
    • Advanced understanding of WAF concepts, SSL/TLS, and application layer security. 
    • Expertise in incident response frameworks and tools, such as SIEM, EDR, and forensic analysis platforms. 
    • Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms, malware analysis, and vulnerability management. 
  • Soft Skills: 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. 
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
    • Leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to guide junior team members. 
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Other Requirements: 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving security challenges. 
    • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to security incidents as needed. 
    • Continuous learning mindset, staying up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies. 

Job Description for Senior Information Security Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Information Security Specialist with a strong focus on Fortinet firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAF). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in protecting our organization's information assets by managing security infrastructures, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Firewall Management: 
    • Design, configure, and manage FortiGate firewalls to ensure the security of our network infrastructure. 
    • Develop and implement firewall policies, rules, and configurations to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats. 
    • Monitor firewall logs, alerts, and performance metrics, optimizing configurations as needed. 
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) Management: 
    • Manage and optimize FortiWeb WAF configurations to protect web applications from common threats such as SQL injection, XSS, and DDoS attacks. 
    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits of web applications, providing recommendations for improvement. 
    • Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure secure application deployments and compliance with security
