Job Description

 

As a Data Analyst at our game studio, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to derive meaningful insights. You will be responsible for optimizing game performance, identifying user behavior patterns, and providing actionable recommendations to improve player engagement and monetization. With your strong statistical and analytical skills, you will contribute to data-driven decision-making processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the studio's success.

 

Responsibilities

 

●      Perform data analysis and interpretation to uncover key insights and trends related to player behavior, game performance, and monetization metrics.

●      Design and implement A/B tests to evaluate and optimize game features, mechanics, and monetization strategies.

●      Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

●      Utilize data mining techniques and segmentation strategies to identify user segments and personalize player experiences.

●      Collaborate with game designers, product managers, and engineers to provide data-driven recommendations for game improvements and feature enhancements.

●      Conduct deep dives into specific areas of interest, such as player churn, acquisition, or in-game economy, and propose strategies for improvement.

●      Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data analysis, statistics, and gaming industry trends to continuously enhance analytical methodologies and best practices.

 

 

Qualifications

●      Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization, with a strong understanding of relevant libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib for exploratory data analysis and visualization.

●      Knowledge of game analytics and an understanding of key metrics and KPIs in the gaming industry, with the ability to extract actionable insights from player behavior, game performance, and in-game transactions.

●      Strong statistical analysis skills and the ability to apply statistical methods to derive meaningful conclusions and recommendations from complex datasets.

●      Experience in SQL and database querying to extract and manipulate data from relational databases, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases used for big data storage and analysis.

●      Experience in machine learning techniques and frameworks such as TensorFlow, with the ability to build and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics and data-driven insights.

●      Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that drive business decisions in the gaming domain.

●      Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, A/B testing, and data mining algorithms.

●      Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Metabase).

●      Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

●      Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey analytical findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders, and to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven.

●      Proven ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

 

 

Nice-to-Haves

●      Familiar with ETL processes and data integration techniques.

●      Familiar with programming languages like Java, etc.

●      Familiar with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive for working with large-scale datasets.

●      Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.

●      Familiarity with software development practices and version control systems such as Git to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and ensure the reproducibility of analytical work.

●      Familiarity with OKR (Objectives and Key Results) methodology and experience in aligning game development goals with organizational goals using OKRs.
