The Image Processing Engineer will develop and test image processing and data classification algorithms and software for medical imaging products, analyze data and develop methods using machine learning for image reconstruction, feature extraction and classification. A critical aspect of this work is visualizing and communicating results. The Image Processing Engineer will create visual interpretations of data and methods, write reports, and create presentations. S/he will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including expertise in medicine, software, electronics, and mechanical design.
Desired Skills
A relevant qualification in computer science, software engineering or mathematics.
Advanced computer skills in programming using Python and Java and experience working with image analysis software, such as FIJI/Image J, Scikit-image, Matlab, Imaris or similar
Practical Knowledge of the current status of optical imaging techniques and instrumentation
Practical Knowledge and experience in computer vision or machine learning/AI approaches for image analysis
Knowledge of super-resolution, con-focal or 2-photon microscopy is desirable but not essential
Proven interpersonal and collaborative skills in achieving research outcomes
Excellent communication skills
