This is a remote job and we have 1 vacancy for this position. You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, coffeeshops. While we currently have an office in Melbourne, you should be comfortable working remotely—most of the company does! That hinges on effective writing and comfort with open communication. The bulk of our work is written. We do require that your normal workday has at least 6 hours overlap with the Melbourne workday without impinging on your personal/family life.

About you:
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal (Exceptional English)
Self-motivated and are ready to work in an environment that will challenge you to the best of your ability
Able to multitask while meeting timeframes
Attention to detail in all areas of the role
Ability to work autonomously and in a virtual team environment

 About your skills:

  • Have 7+ years of backend software development with a strong focus on data
  • Has proven ability to deliver multiple projects over a period of time
  • Has working knowledge of most of the stack of a large scale data environment
  • Data Warehouse concepts and methodologies
  • ETL / ELT concepts and methodologies
  • Business Intelligence solutions
  • Cloud computing platforms (AWS)
  • SQL and NoSQL database solutions (AWS Redshift and AWS DynamoDB)
  • Big data processing frameworks and concepts 
  • DevOps practices
  • Excellent knowledge of Python 
  • Serverless Architecture
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with the rest of the team
  • Effectively takes and gives constructive feedback to work towards a better solution within the team
  • Communicates with stakeholders for delivery of required and desired functionality
  • Acts upon feedback on their performance from stakeholders and managers
