Research and analyze data and market insights Search for insights into consumer needs and wants Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories Design exit strategies for unsuccessful products Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors Place appropriate orders Ensure product availability Strategize positioning of a product category in order to maximize its visibility Collaborate with the marketing team Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities Find new ways of expanding product categories Calculate forecasts for product demand trends Handling of day-to-day business issues Develop growth strategies Manage budgets and KPI’s and continuous improvement Scrutinize areas of the business in terms of regulation and efficiency and keeping track of monthly reports surrounding sales, market share and competition Develop existing relationships across Top FMCG suppliers and win new business Develop JBPs and manage the P&L seeking out opportunities for growth
Requirements
Previous working experience as Category Manager for 2 years In-depth knowledge of sales operations and processes Existing connections with and a good reputation among well-known FMCG suppliers and vendors Analytical and critical thinker Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills University Degree in industrial engineering, business administration, management, marketing or similar relevant field. Good knowledge of MS office Flawless knowledge of Microsoft Excel Candidates with Online Retail experience are preferable.
