The team 

We want to build and deliver more valuable products and services to cater to our consumers’ needs. To do this, we collect relevant data and analytics to learn more about them. What we do is critical to making smart marketing decisions, optimising our business, and boosting profitability. We lead the organisation in cultivating a data-driven culture as the organisation advances — we are the Business Intelligence team. 


The role 

You'll analyze data sets to spot trends and extract information to help us make better and informed business decisions. It's your methodical and logical thinking that will help us keep our data healthy and accurate. Through data-driven approaches, you'll produce effective solutions to address challenging issues affecting our business. You’ll also be involved with the company's decision-making process which will give you the opportunity to communicate with different stakeholders. 


Challenges 

●  Establish a clear understanding of the business needs and ensure smooth data transfer from the relevant sources 
●  Develop data models for business analytics requirements without comprising privacy, accessibility, and accuracy of the data involved 
●  Translate data based on the needs of stakeholders and in accordance with business metrics to facilitate analysis 
●  Recognize and bridge gaps found during data collection and analysis processes 
●  Coordinate with other team members in identifying and assessing possible issues affecting the company’s business, and determine the availability of relevant data to address them 
●  Prepare reports and analysis presentations via dashboards or alerts, and communicate the findings to the respective stakeholders 
● Formulate uniform business terminologies, and ensure effective dissemination and implementation across the company 


Minimum requirements 

●  A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of data analytics 
●  Expansive experience including packages for reporting with SQL, programming (Python/R), and ETL frameworks for data cleansing, wrangling and load/ingestion purposes 
●  In-depth understanding of data modelling and data warehouses methodologies like Kimball, Inmon, and Anchor 
●  Working knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau and PowerBI 
●  Solid experience in using relational SQL DBs, preferably with PostgreSQL 
●  Exceptional analytical skills that can be applied to optimize business decisions based on data 
●  Ability to present data in various formats that enable business decisions to be made in an informed manner 
●  Substantial background in statistics, mathematics, or engineering 
●  Maintain a reasonable understanding of stakeholder expectations 
●  Good understanding of the needs of the business units and the ability to ask important questions 
●  Actively seek solutions to problems 
●  A track record of managing multiple competing priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment 
●  Effective communication and presentation skills 
●  Fluency in spoken and written English 


Preferred experience 

●  A background in data science 
●  Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Google Bigquery, Scheduled queries, and Google Cloud storage and functions 
●  Familiarity with the financial services and products marketing domain 
●  Advanced knowledge of digital marketing platforms like Google Analytics and Facebook Ads 
●  Certifications in business intelligence-related tools 
●  Expertise in spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel
