Job Title: Acoustic Signal Processing Expert
Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract

We are embarking on an innovative project to perform exploratory data analysis on a massive distributed acoustic and temperature sensing dataset (tens of terabytes) to detect pipeline leaks using fiber optic sensing technology. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Acoustic Signal Processing Expert to join our team. As part of this project, you will analyze large datasets, apply acoustic signal processing techniques, and contribute directly to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze large distributed acoustic and temperature sensing datasets to detect pipeline leaks using fibre optic sensing technology.
  • Develop and implement signal processing techniques, particularly focusing on acoustic signals.
  • Utilize Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Use Jupyter notebooks for data exploration, visualization, and reporting.
  • Work with cloud computing platforms to handle and process very large datasets efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and data scientists, to design and direct project efforts.
  • Present results and insights to clients clearly and concisely.
  • Adapt to a rapidly changing environment where project goals may shift and require innovative solutions.
Requirements:

  • Professional proficiency in English is a must.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Signal Processing Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL, proficient with Jupyter notebooks.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms for handling very large datasets.
  • Background in acoustic signal processing is highly preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong exploratory data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting results to clients.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to embed into existing technical teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and contribute to project design and direction.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with distributed acoustic sensing data.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as DOMO, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Previous experience in projects involving pipeline monitoring or similar applications.
