Job Title: Data Scientist/Data Analyst/Digital Signal Processing Engineer
Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time, 3-Month Contract

We are embarking on an innovative project to perform exploratory data analysis on a massive distributed acoustic and temperature sensing dataset (tens of terabytes) to detect pipeline leaks using fiber optic sensing technology. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist/Data Analyst/Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team. As part of this project, you will analyze large datasets, apply signal processing techniques, and contribute directly to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

What You’ll Do:


  • Analyze large distributed acoustic and temperature sensing datasets to detect pipeline leaks using fiber optic sensing technology.
  • Develop and implement exploratory data analysis techniques using Python and SQL.
  • Utilize Jupyter notebooks for data exploration, visualization, and reporting.
  • Apply signal processing techniques, particularly acoustic signal processing, to identify and analyze patterns in the data.
  • Work with cloud computing platforms to handle and process very large datasets efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and data scientists, to design and direct project efforts.
  • Present results and insights to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Adapt to a rapidly changing environment where project goals may shift and require innovative solutions.
Requirements:


  • Professional proficiency in English is a must.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL, proficient with Jupyter notebooks.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms for handling very large datasets.
  • Background in signal processing, preferably acoustic signal processing.
  • Self-motivated with strong exploratory data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting results to clients.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to embed into existing technical teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and contribute to project design and direction.
Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with distributed acoustic sensing data.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as DOMO, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Previous experience in projects involving pipeline monitoring or similar applications.
