At DGShahr, we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Backend Team Lead to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building scalable and reliable systems, leading talented developers, solving complex technical challenges, and driving engineering excellence. Experience with financial, credit, lending, marketplace, or high-traffic transactional platforms is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support the backend development team to ensure high-quality and timely technical delivery.
Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and APIs using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
Define and oversee backend architecture, coding standards, development processes, and engineering best practices.
Design scalable, secure, fault-tolerant, and maintainable services for high-traffic and transaction-heavy systems.
Design and implement RESTful APIs, service integrations, and event-driven workflows.
Implement asynchronous and concurrent processing solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
Design, configure, and manage Celery workers, task queues, retries, scheduled tasks, and background-processing workflows.
Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, transactions, and data-access patterns.
Implement effective caching, distributed locking, session management, and rate-limiting strategies using Redis.
Design and optimize search functionality using technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or PostgreSQL full-text search.
Contribute to the design and development of financial, credit, lending, payment, and marketplace-related services.
Ensure data consistency and transaction integrity across financial and distributed workflows.
Apply Test-Driven Development and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, API, and end-to-end test coverage.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Identify and resolve complex performance, scalability, database, concurrency, and production issues.
Collaborate closely with product, frontend, DevOps, security, data, and other cross-functional teams.
Participate in technical planning, task prioritization, estimation, and delivery within Agile development cycles.
Support application deployment, monitoring, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Maintain clear technical documentation for backend architecture, services, APIs, processes, and operational procedures.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and career development of backend engineers.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional backend development experience.
At least 1–2 years of experience leading, mentoring, or technically guiding software development teams.
Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
Strong understanding of Python asynchronous programming, concurrency, and background-task processing.
Hands-on experience with Celery and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Redis.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including:
- Data modelling and schema design
- Query optimization and execution-plan analysis
- Indexing strategies
- Transactions, locking, and isolation levels
- Database performance tuning
Experience designing scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable backend architectures.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, authorization, validation, pagination, and API versioning.
Experience with Redis for caching, distributed locking, queues, and high-performance data access.
Practical experience with automated testing and Test-Driven Development.
Experience writing unit, integration, API, and regression tests using tools such as pytest.
Experience with Git-based development workflows, pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews.
Strong understanding of software design principles, including SOLID, Clean Architecture, design patterns, and separation of concerns.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Ability to balance technical quality, delivery timelines, business requirements, and long-term maintainability.
