About the role

We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own and grow test automation for our modern logistics and warehouse software platforms. You’ll design and maintain a scalable Playwright framework using TypeScript, develop a deep understanding of our products and user workflows, and ensure software reliability through automated, manual, and exploratory testing.

You’ll use AI tools to accelerate testing, expand test coverage, and improve efficiency while collaborating closely with developers, product, and DevOps teams to ensure quality at every release.

This is a remote, full-time role (174 hours/month), working closely with our teams in **Canada and Iran.

What you'll do

Design, build and maintain a scalable end-to-end automation framework using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript.
Apply proven patterns: the Page Object Model, custom Playwright fixtures, reusable helpers and components, data-driven tests, and clear tagging (smoke, regression, role-based).
Automate UI, API and integration tests, including authentication and role-based access (RBAC), negative paths and edge cases.
Build automation into CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI) with parallel runs, sharding, retries and reporting (Allure or HTML).
Use AI tools (such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude, and Playwright MCP or agents) to generate and refactor tests, analyze failures, find coverage gaps and draft test cases.
Find and fix flaky tests, keep test data stable and isolated, and keep suites fast and reliable.
Write clear bug reports and test plans, and BDD scenarios in Gherkin where useful.
Review automation code, mentor other QA engineers, and promote good testing practices across the team.
Take part in sprint planning, refinement and release sign-off, and give quality metrics and risk assessments.

What you bring

5+ years in QA, with at least 3 years hands-on in test automation.
Strong, hands-on Playwright experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
Proven experience designing automation frameworks from scratch, not just adding tests to an existing one.
Solid grasp of POM, fixtures, the test pyramid, test isolation and maintainable test design.
API testing experience (REST, using Playwright request, Postman or similar) and comfort reading JSON responses and HTTP status codes.
Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with Docker.
Comfortable using AI tools in daily QA work, with good judgment about checking AI-generated tests.
Git, code reviews and branching workflows.
Strong debugging skills: browser DevTools, network analysis, logs and traces.
Clear written and spoken communication, and the ability to work on your own.

Nice to have

Mobile testing (Appium, or Android and iOS device testing).
Performance or load testing (k6, JMeter or Artillery).
Security testing basics (OWASP Top 10, auth and permission testing).
Accessibility testing (axe and WCAG).
Visual regression testing.
SQL and database validation.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
Contract testing (Pact) or mocking (MSW or Playwright route).
Jira, Confluence and test management tools (Xray, Zephyr or TestRail).
ISTQB or a similar certification.
Experience in logistics, e-commerce or SaaS.

Measurable growth in coverage of critical user flows and APIs.
Fewer flaky tests and faster feedback.
AI-assisted workflows written up and shared with the team.
