About AppBox
AppBox is a custom software development agency specialising in enterprise internal tools and complex systems for mid-to-large organisations. We build CRMs, service platforms, and business-critical applications that demand extensive logic, sophisticated data architecture, and zero-tolerance security.
You'll own design decisions end to end, from direction to a working prototype, working directly with the developers who take it to production. This is a project-based engagement, paid hourly, with your time scaling to what's active rather than a fixed weekly schedule.
The role, in one line
You own design end to end, research through wireframes through a working frontend prototype, for both client-facing products and AppBox's own tools, brought on for each project as it comes up. You build the prototype yourself using AI-native tools; developers pick it up from there to wire in backend logic and data.
What you'll design
● Client-facing product UI for enterprise tools: CRMs, portals, dashboards, each with its own visual direction matched to that client's brand
● AppBox's own internal tools and client portal, maintained under a consistent design system
● AppBox's marketing site and related brand assets
● Working frontend prototypes, not just static screens, built with AI-native tools like Claude Design and Cursor
Your responsibilities
● Own design end to end for every project you touch: research, wireframes, high-fidelity, working prototype
● Design a fresh visual direction for each client project, matched to their brand, never a shared template
● Maintain and evolve the AppBox design system, for AppBox's own internal tools and portal only
● Design AppBox's own marketing and website work alongside client and internal product design
● Build real, working frontend prototypes using AI-native tools like Claude Design and Cursor, so developers pick up functioning UI, not flat mockups
● Use AI tools like Higgsfield for asset generation as part of your workflow
Requirements
Core competencies
● Senior-level product design experience, UI and UX, with real shipped work
● Figma fluency: components, variants, auto-layout
● Comfortable building working frontend prototypes with AI-native tools like Claude Design or Cursor, not just static mockups
● Comfortable designing a distinct visual identity per client, not skinning one template repeatedly
● Experience building or maintaining a design system
● Strong visual craft: typography, layout, spacing, hierarchy
● Can turn a vague client brief into clear UI decisions independently, and commit to a direction without waiting on someone else's sign-off
Desirable experience
● Basic HTML/CSS/React literacy, enough to work fluently inside AI-native prototyping tools
● Track record of clean handoff to developers, prototypes that don't need clarifying questions
● Marketing or website design experience alongside product UI
● Accessibility awareness (WCAG)
How we work
● AI-native by default. Claude Design and Cursor are how you build prototypes, not optional extras. Higgsfield covers asset generation.
● Design system, scoped. The AppBox design system applies to our own internal tools and portal only. Client-facing work gets its own fresh identity every time.
● Tight team, high autonomy. You will work directly with senior developers. Minimal hand-holding. We trust you to own decisions and ask for help when needed.
● Visibility and accountability. Hubstaff (time and screen tracking) is standard practice. We measure output and integrity, not surveillance.
● Weekly sprints while a project is active. Monday planning, consistent delivery expectations, clear handoff for every feature.
Engagement and hours
This is project-based work, paid hourly, brought on as projects come up rather than as ongoing employment. While engaged on a project, working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Iran Standard Time (IRST, UTC+3:30), for overlap with the team. You'll work from Iran.
