شرح موقعیت شغلی

The candidate will provide technical and practical expertise and support to ensure effective and safe National Grid operations in Liberia. Including planning and development of the physical layout of protection & control equipment, protection & control logic as well as assist in future planning of LEC’s grid expansion and functioning.
Technical and practical assistance to ensure optimal grid operation
Design and implementation of grid protection programs
Testing and challenging existing grid protection procedures and programs
Respond in real time to technical concerns with various viable solutions
Manage and assign tasks to ensure grid protection, including; coordination studies, fault studies, protection reviews and repair, safety implementation procedures and plans, and monitoring and participation in small and large scale engineering projects, etc
Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements for grid protection mechanisms
Develop and suggest protection policy, protection system design, disturbance, investigations and audit support
System protection standards and procedure development
Relay protection installation, testing, commissioning and acceptance
System performance monitoring (e.g. investigations of faults and blackouts), development of corrective action plan, etc
Development of specifications for tendering process
Local capacity building
Evaluate specific government energy policy, legislation, and emerging system operating compliance rules in order to determine probable impact on the National Grid
Provide protection designs that ensure effective operations and ensure that other National Grid business units are provided with the appropriate technical expertise to meet Liberia’s local needs
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit the National Grid.
Delegate, plan, prioritize and review the work of other engineers
Any other request from Management with regards to grid protection
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree (Science) in Electrical Engineering or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
Broad knowledge of all aspects of the electric power industry with a focus on grid operations, Project management, safety, quality, compliance and regulation
Experience of working with utilities in developing countries preferred

’more than 10years of experience in electric utility with at least 5 years in grid operation and protection in developing country
Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards, safety standards, and grid codes
Fluency in English
