Full Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud and Kubernetes Specialist
 
 The Role:
We are in search of a skilled Senior Platform/Cloud engineer who specializes in Kubernetes and containerized workloads, possesses a deep understanding of CI/CD tools, and excels in building and supporting applications within Openshift.

  • Automation of application engineering infrastructure that accelerates our engineers through adopting Cloud Native standards.
  • Enabling the voice of the engineer through repeatable processes that accelerates the enterprise EIP engineering experience.
As a Platform Engineer II on the Platform Services you will report to the Infrastructure Services Manager.
 
 Your responsibilities will include:
Applying your expert knowledge across a diverse range of subjects.
Adapting to new tasks seamlessly and learning on the go.
Collaborating within Agile teams, closely guiding and assisting engineering teams in delivering business functionalities.
Creating intricate platforms and simplifying them for effortless consumption by engineering teams through platform-level abstractions.
Nurturing and advising junior platform engineers, aiding their growth in the field.

  • Builds, collaborates, and supports relationships between ADAK teams by living its core values.
  • Design, build, and maintain the platform's infrastructure using modern tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architecture.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform performance, security, and reliability issues.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency using infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.

 Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a platform engineering capacity.
4+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Golang, or Python.
4+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (Openshift / Rancher).
4+ years of expertise in containerization and working with container platforms.
Proficiency in Kubernetes GitOps practices, utilizing tools like ArgoCD, Flux, Helm, or Kustomize.
Practical experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (logging, metrics, distributed tracing) using tools such as Loki, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack and Xray.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS DevOps Tools, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Expert Knowledge:
Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, Crossplane) and associated practices.
In-depth understanding of container orchestration principles, preferably with CKA certification.
Mastery of public cloud providers (Openshift / Rancher) and best practices (Well-Architected Frameworks), certification is a plus.
Profound grasp of distributed systems, service architectures, cloud-native systems, and the challenges they address, including related trade-offs for contributing to feature and service design.
Track record of building platform APIs, automation, system-level tooling, and/or internal developer platforms.
