Job Description
The Tier-2 Technical Support Specialist helps connect the Tier-1 Support Team with the Development (Technical) Team. Your job is to provide advanced help to solve problems that the Tier-1 team cannot fix. You will look into these problems deeply, check system logs, and if you cannot solve them, you will pass the issue to the Development Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve technical issues that the Tier-1 Support Team cannot handle.
  • Diagnose the root cause of complex technical problems.
  • Analyze system logs and error messages to identify issues.
  • Apply technical skills to fix problems or offer temporary solutions.
  • Reproduce bugs and issues reported by users for further analysis.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Development Team with detailed information.
  • Ensure clear communication between the Support Team and the Development Team.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and findings in the support system.
  • Update the knowledge base with solutions to recurring problems.
  • Assist customers with technical questions and explain solutions in simple terms.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve support processes and stay updated on new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Good understanding of IT systems and applications.
  • Skilled in analyzing logs and solving technical problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical support role, with at least 1 year in a Tier-2 or similar position.
  • Experience with the ELK stack for analyzing logs and monitoring systems.
  • Familiar with at least one monitoring system like Zabbix or Grafana.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux, including using the command line and simple system administration.
  • Experience with support ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, JIRA).
  • Basic understanding of database management and SQL.
  • Basic understanding of one programming language (e.g., Python, PHP).
