About the Role
As a Software Engineer with a focus on DevOps, you will design and build software, platforms, and automation that improve the reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of TAPSI’s systems.
You will work closely with software engineers and infrastructure teams to solve system-wide engineering challenges, automate operational processes, and build internal tools and platforms that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate services effectively at scale.
This role combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a deep understanding of infrastructure, distributed systems, and DevOps practices. As part of a team responsible for critical production systems, you will also participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents when needed, including outside regular working hours.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software and internal platforms that automate infrastructure and operational workflows.
- Build tools and services that improve developer productivity, deployment processes, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment systems, and infrastructure automation.
- Work with engineering teams to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Investigate complex production and system-level issues and develop sustainable engineering solutions.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, troubleshoot production incidents, and contribute to effective incident resolution.
- Improve the observability, reliability, security, and availability of production systems.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and reduce manual intervention across infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of TAPSI’s Kubernetes, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Identify technical bottlenecks and proactively improve system performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Document technical decisions, infrastructure changes, configurations, and operational procedures accurately and consistently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve the overall developer experience and engineering ecosystem.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade software.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, or Java.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of computer networks and distributed systems.
- Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Hands-on experience working with data and messaging technologies such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Kafka.
- Experience with load balancing, proxy, and service networking technologies such as NGINX, Envoy Gateway, and Istio.
- Familiarity with storage technologies such as Rook/Ceph and LINSTOR.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems such as VictoriaMetrics, OpenSearch, Grafana, and Graylog.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex production systems.
- Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents outside regular working hours when required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building developer platforms, internal tooling, or infrastructure software.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration between on-premises infrastructure and cloud services.
- Strong understanding of system reliability, scalability, and performance engineering.
- Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies.
- Advanced networking knowledge and hands-on experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Reliability and availability of critical systems and engineering platforms.

- Improvement in deployment frequency, deployment time, and failure rates.
- Reduction in Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) for production incidents.

- Delivery of reusable tools and solutions that enable engineering teams to operate more independently.
