About the Role

As an Android Proficient, you will serve as a subject matter expert, bringing your technical expertise, programming skills, and communication acumen to the forefront. We are seeking technologists who not only possess exceptional talent but also have a deep desire to understand our product, strengthen our systems, and make them more resilient. In this role, you will take ownership of our evolving Android code base, delivering scalable solutions, contributing to architectural improvements, and assisting management in refining processes. 

Responsibilities

  • Define outcomes for your team, refine processes, and provide strategic technical advice to senior leaders on systems, solutions, and challenges 
  • Contribute to the Technical Roadmap: Conduct thorough assessments of implementation alternatives, evaluate trade-offs, and provide well-informed recommendations. 
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership with minimal oversight, ensuring your team delivers high-quality solutions. 
  • Collaborate on Requirements: Clarify requirements, assist with coding and story estimates, and participate in planning and design discussions to drive best practices. 
  • Code Simplification: Proactively simplify code, resolve architectural deficiencies, and enhance system performance and business value. 
  • Mentor fellow engineers, reduce onboarding burdens for new team members, and influence adherence to engineering best practices. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of our industry, product roadmap, and the latest trends in software development. 
  • Tailor communication effectively for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across the team.
Requirements

  • +5 years of Android development experience 
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and expert knowledge of the Android SDK 
  • Experience in designing and building APIs 
  • Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions 
  • Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Material Design, Compose Navigation, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flows 
  • Experience with Dagger or Hilt or Koin for dependency injection 
  • Knowledge of architectural patterns like MVVM or MVI. 
  • Experience with CI/CD to automate the build process
