About the Role
In this role, you will provide mathematical and statistical insights for better decision making in our business. Creating mathematical models based on available data is at the heart of this position. Moreover, by working in a team of software engineers, you will contribute to developing more intelligent solutions. Creating a simulated marketplace and developing a suggestion system for batching orders are examples of what has been done so far in association with this role. You will be a part of the technical team, although the scope of this role is wider than a normal software engineer and includes more interactions with operations and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining computer-based mathematical models for estimation and forecasting purposes
- Defining meaningful metrics for monitoring and tracking the systems
- Identifying the opportunities for developing intelligent solutions
- Documenting the findings and outcomes of each project
- Highlighting deficiencies in different parts of the business
- Finding trends and patterns within different data resources
Requirements
- +2 years related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, industrial engineering, software engineering or related fields
- Proficient in stochastic modeling and simulation
- Proficient in optimization algorithms and tools
- Skilled in mathematical and statistical modeling of real-world business problems
- Skilled in at least one programming language (preferably Python)
- Familiar with machine learning concepts and frameworks
- Familiar with using different data resources
- Willingness to learn and adapt as the requirements grow and change
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong analytical and computational skills for problem-solving
