Responsibilities

  • Help solve a variety of technical challenges at scale and lead a team of engineers
  • Play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team
  • Help invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services
  • Help in automating workflows to speed up operations 

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

  • Must be technically credible to lead teams of world-class software engineers
  • Must be able to make the right design tradeoffs related to product features and technology choices
  • Experienced in building and managing teams that design and deliver scalable and extensible distributed systems
  • Consistent focus on operational excellence and security of systems
  • Experience with open source technologies, agile development methodologies, and a strong product focus
  • data-driven decision making
  • Ability to code and take on a hands-on role when required, and the passion to go deep where needed
Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience, hiring and managing engineers
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams and bring customer perspective to the table
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 6+ years' experience.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project planning/execution skills including estimating and scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior business leaders. 
  • Proven track record of hiring and managing high performing engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience crafting and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture).
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Golang, RDBMS and NoSQL data stores, Message Queues, Concurrency, Monitoring & Tracing
