Alibaba is seeking a Senior Datacenter and Virtualization Engineer to join our Infrastructure department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in datacenter and virtualization technologies, as well as experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Performing installation, configurations, deployment, design and maintenancing of virtualized environments. (VMware Products), physical equipments such as servers, storages, san switches, backup and monitoring infrastructure
- Ability to work in multiple datacenters
- Overseeing and deploying global solutions with high availability and maximum uptime
- Developing automation opportunities in Virtualization
- Ensuring proper communication and quick resolution
- Planning and scheduling changes to minimize the incidents, hardware troubleshooting & vendor coordination
- Preparing weekly and monthly status reports
- Training new team members
Requirements
- Design, installation, configuration, and management in VMware vSphere based infrastructures
- Strong knowledge about virtual networks, storages and compute layer
- Design, installation, configuration of backup, archiving, and monitoring management solutions and related devices (veeam and backup exec are preferred)
- Advanced proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, vRA, VDI and other VMware products and platforms
- Experienced with Heterogeneous Servers and Storages specially HPE, EMC
- Advanced knowledge of clustering services, load balancing and replication services
- Experienced in creating documentation of designs and solutions
- Experienced with Installation, racking & stacking of hardware
- Strong influencing, program and change management skills
- +6 years of experience with VMware platform.
- Being on Call 24/7
