Senior Golang Backend Engineer

At System Group, we build powerful cloud-native software used by large-scale organizations to manage and grow their businesses. Our engineering team, with 200+ developers, is one of the largest in the country, and we’re still growing.

We’re looking for a Golang Backend Engineer to help us design, build, and operate reliable backend systems that power our core product.

 Requirements

- 7+ years experience in backend development (with strong production experience in Go)

- Strong experience with PostgreSQL (data modeling, query optimization)

- Experience building/operating scalable systems in production

- Strong communication skills and a high sense of ownership

 What you’ll do:

- Build and maintain scalable backend services in Go (clean architecture, readable and maintainable code)

- Work hands-on with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling; write and optimize SQL queries when needed

- Contribute to system design and architecture (service boundaries, APIs, data consistency, scalability trade-offs)

- Troubleshoot and improve performance, reliability, and maintainability in production systems

- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions

- Apply strong fundamentals in practice: data structures, algorithms, and software design principles

- Take ownership of code quality by leading reviews, proposing refactors, and raising engineering standards

- Act as a technical mentor for junior/mid engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering team

- Apply AI skills to improve productivity and quality (e.g., using AI tools for prototyping, code assistance, test generation, debugging, documentation—while ensuring correctness and security)

 Bonus points:

- Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

- Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-native concepts

- Experience with observability/monitoring (metrics, logs, tracing)

- Experience with message brokers/streaming (e.g., Kafka/RabbitMQ) and/or gRPC

- Experience with testing practices (unit/integration) and engineering best practices

Familiarity with frontend development.
