As a member of the Product team, you will be directly responsible for meeting the needs of our customers, both internal and external, through leading the product design process from idealization to launch. You ideally possess deep and broad skills to gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers, then refine those designs using wire frames, storyboards, and process flows.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the user interface: identify problems, propose solutions, recommend implementations, and execute UI solutions to improve the user experience
- Collaborate with product owners and subject matter experts to evaluate requirements and create user personas
- You may produce artifacts such as wire frames, prototypes, visual design specifications, style guides, pattern libraries, motion design, and presentations
- To gather and analyze user behavior, must understand different methods such as but not limited to: laboratory research, fieldwork, anthropological studies, surveying, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments (A/B testing) can be utilized
- Create user flows, restructure, and optimize them in accordance with business procedures and goals
- Analyze user input (interviews, usability testing, A/B testing, and validation testing) and produce study summary reports
- You participate in the development of approaches, processes, and workflows that guide the execution of design work
- You demonstrate an interest in mentoring others by sharing your expertise and experience
- You may observe and assist primary research or collaborate on research plans
Requirements:
- 2 or more years of design experience in a web and/or digital product environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of user-centered design principles and best practices with a passion for turning complex issues and requirements into clean, simple, aesthetically pleasing experiences
- Proven experience designing interfaces and creating user flows, low- and high-fidelity wire frames, and interactive mockups
- Knowledge of color theory, design principles and composition, methods and techniques of graphic design
- Foundational knowledge of interaction design, visual design, technology and usability
- Strong understanding of the advantages of various research techniques, as well as when and how to apply them during the product development process
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Adobe XD or other design tools preferred
- A portfolio showing your user-centered design process and representative work
What Makes You Stand Out:
- BFA or BA in a design relevant field such as Human Interaction, Graphic Design, UX Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, etc.
- Understanding of common software development practices
- Experience with design sprints / agile methodologies
