About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and manage the health, performance, and security of our critical MySQL databases. You will be responsible for all aspects of the database lifecycle, from installation and configuration to ongoing maintenance and optimization. You will also work closely with developers and other stakeholders to ensure that our databases are aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities:
Installation and Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL
Create and manage database users and roles, ensuring appropriate access control.
Configure performance parameters for optimal database operation.
Maintenance and Optimization:
Implement and automate backup and recovery procedures.
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as indexing, and defragmentation.
Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
Implement query optimization and performance tuning techniques.

Security:
Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect databases from unauthorized access.
Stay up to date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing.

Collaboration:
Work closely with developers to understand their needs and design efficient database solutions.
Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure smooth integration of databases with other systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to users.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in MySQL
Strong understanding of SQL query writing and optimization techniques.
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to have:
Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in PostgreSQL or MongoDB
