Role Overview: As a Data Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in our data team, assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will work with various data types, databases, and SQL coding, contributing to the efficient processing and management of data. This position will also provide you with the opportunity to learn and work with cloud services, enhancing your skills in a cutting-edge technological environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of data pipelines to support data integration, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Work with different data types and structures, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
  • Collaborate with senior data engineers and other team members to design and implement database schemas and architectures.
  • Participate in the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing data systems and processes.
  • Learn and apply cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to build and scale data infrastructure.
  • Document data processes and solutions, ensuring clarity and accessibility for the team.
Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Understanding of data types and structures (e.g., JSON, CSV, Parquet).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially cloud services.
