About the Role

We are developing an advanced IoT application for real-time sensor data collection and on-device AI processing. The application will also incorporate robust private key management to ensure data security and user privacy.

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to lead the implementation of this project, leveraging the latest Android technologies to build a high-performance, secure, and scalable mobile application.

This is a remote, international opportunity for a client on a 3-month contract basis with possible extensions. 

Responsibilities

1. Full-Cycle Development of the DataProbe Android Application

  • Design and implement a comprehensive sensor data collection framework for devices, including accelerometer, gyroscope, speed, and environmental data.
  • Optimize real-time data collection, processing, and storage to ensure efficient performance.
2. Secure Private Key Management

  • Develop and integrate a secure private key management system.
  • Utilize Android Keystore for secure key storage.
  • Implement key recovery solutions, such as:
    • 12-word seed phrase recovery.
    • QR code-based key restoration.
    • Shamir’s Secret Sharing (SSS) for distributed key recovery.
3. Data Anonymization & Encryption

  • Ensure all user data is encrypted end-to-end using locally stored private keys.
  • Implement anonymization techniques to protect user privacy before transmitting data to the cloud.
4. Real-Time Data Synchronization & Management

  • Implement real-time sensor data collection, ensuring efficient local storage and retrieval.
  • Coordinate with backend engineers to securely transfer data to the cloud.
  • Optimize battery consumption and app performance for continuous data monitoring.
5. UI/UX Implementation

  • Work closely with the design team to bring Figma-based UI/UX to life.
  • Ensure smooth and responsive user interactions with a focus on usability and accessibility.
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Android Development
    • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Jetpack components.
    • Experience with Room Database for local data persistence.
    • Deep understanding of Android Keystore for secure data storage.
    • Proficiency in handling foreground and background services for real-time data collection.
  • Security & Cryptography
    • Strong knowledge of data encryption techniques and secure authentication.
    • Experience implementing Shamir’s Secret Sharing (SSS) for secure key recovery.
    • Understanding of best practices for data privacy and security compliance.
  • Performance Optimization & AI Integration
    • Experience working with sensor data and integrating it with on-device AI models.
    • Strong focus on real-time data processing, efficiency, and power optimization.
