Senior Full-Stack Developer

Backend-Focused – Node.js / NestJS – Remote

We are an AI-focused software company building complex, production-grade software products.

We are looking for an exceptionally strong senior engineer with deep backend expertise.

This is a senior individual contributor role, working closely with our Technical Lead. You should be able to independently solve complex engineering problems, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of critical parts of production systems.

What We Expect

  • Deep hands-on expertise with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
  • Proven experience designing and evolving complex production backend systems
  • Strong system design skills, including scalability, service boundaries, caching, asynchronous processing, and failure handling
  • Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimisation, indexing, transactions, locking, concurrency, and data modelling
  • Strong experience diagnosing real production issues, performance bottlenecks, race conditions, database problems, and distributed-system failures
  • Practical experience with Redis, queues, background jobs, WebSockets, real-time systems, and event-driven architectures
  • Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and make technically sound decisions with limited guidance
  • Ability to understand a complex existing codebase, identify weaknesses, and improve its architecture and reliability
  • Strong engineering judgement around performance, security, maintainability, and production reliability
  • Working knowledge of React.js / Next.js; deep frontend expertise is not required
AI-Assisted Engineering

We actively use tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and similar AI engineering tools.

You should be able to use AI effectively while independently reviewing and validating generated code, architecture, security, performance, and technical decisions.

This Role May Not Be a Good Fit If

  • Most of your professional experience is primarily frontend
  • Your backend experience is mainly limited to CRUD applications or straightforward business APIs
  • You need detailed technical instructions before starting complex tasks
  • You have limited experience debugging and maintaining production systems
  • You have not worked with scalability, concurrency, real-time systems, queues, or performance-related challenges
  • You are uncomfortable making and defending technical decisions independently
  • You rely heavily on AI-generated code without being able to independently validate its architecture, security, performance, and correctness

  • one production issue you personally diagnosed and resolved
