About the Project: We are developing a project similar to NetBlocks.org, focused on monitoring the status of the internet in Iran and addressing network issues with effective solutions. The project aims to gather data from nodes to detect internet outages, disruptions, and overall network performance. This initiative is crucial for ensuring transparency and providing insights into the state of internet connectivity.
Responsibilities Include:
Data Collection and Management:
Design and implement data collection methodologies for data analysis, telecommunications, and network monitoring.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze data to detect patterns indicating internet outages and recoveries.
Generate reports and visualizations to present findings clearly.
Develop algorithms and models to analyze large datasets and provide real-time insights.
Solution Development:
Develop predictive models to anticipate potential outages.
Propose and implement solutions to improve data collection and analysis processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with telecommunications experts to refine analysis.
Communicate findings to stakeholders and the public effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Data Science, or a related field.
Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as Python, SQL, or similar. Familiarity with Go is a plus. Proven experience in data analysis, preferably related to internet and network performance.
Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical methods and experience applying them to real-world datasets.
Telecommunications Knowledge: Understanding of telecommunication networks, internet infrastructure, and network protocols. Familiarity with internet speed testing tools and methodologies.
Network Monitoring Tools: Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools is a plus.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
