The buyer is the Procurement Representative on-site. The Buyer ensures that the warehouse requirements are captured and shared with the Category Teams. He is acting as a first escalation point for local supplier issues. The Buyer works with the local stakeholders and ensures that the needs of the warehouse are met.

- Build effective local stakeholder relationships, ensuring a high service level in terms of quotations and lead-times
- Manage the relationship with internal customers - partner with internal customers to positively influence spending decisions, to analyses and make recommendations to the business
- Understand the business needs within the local business groups & validate the requirements are justified
- Manage vendors to ensure timely deliveries and quality compliance
- Execute Purchase Orders including full tracking up to delivery on site
- Ensure flawless procurement procedures on site - working with the relevant individuals to make improvements where required
- Identify savings opportunities and partner with Category Managers to deliver savings through tenders/negotiations/contract renewals
- Support to negotiations, contracts implementation and maintenance, incl. supplier performance metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years’ minimum professional experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Contracts Management or equivalent role
- Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and commercial mindset
- Bias for action and result driven mindset
- Any additional sourcing and/or purchasing competencies would be advantageous
- Demonstrated success managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting and planning
- Ability to identify issues, develop solutions & drive results
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Contract and Price negotiation experience is advantageous
