Senior VoIP & Telecom Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior VoIP / Telecom Software Engineer to join our technical team and contribute to the development and evolution of our voice and communication infrastructure.

The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP-based communication, Asterisk, Linux environments, and backend software development, with the ability to design reliable and scalable telecom services. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain VoIP and telephony-related services.
  • Integrate and manage SIP-based communication with telecom providers.
  • Develop and maintain services based on Asterisk and related technologies.
  • Design call routing and communication flows based on business requirements.
  • Develop backend services and APIs that interact with telecom infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve signaling, media, network, and call-quality issues.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of voice services.
  • Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
  • Create technical documentation for implemented systems and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with Backend, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Network teams. 
Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Asterisk.
  • Strong understanding of SIP and VoIP concepts.
  • Experience with PJSIP and SIP Trunk configuration.
  • Good understanding of: 
    • RTP 
    • SDP 
    • Codecs 
    • DTMF 
    • NAT and networking concepts 
  • Experience troubleshooting VoIP systems using tools such as: 
    • sngrep 
    • Wireshark 
    • tcpdump 
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Software development experience in at least one backend programming language.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and distributed backend systems.
  • Experience in vibe coding and agentic development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production systems systematically.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is considered an advantage:

  • Asterisk ARI / AMI
  • Kamailio
  • OpenSIPS
  • FreeSWITCH
  • SBC technologies
  • WebRTC
  • Redis
  • RabbitMQ / Kafka
