You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, coffeeshops. While we currently have an office in Melbourne, you should be comfortable working remotely—most of the company does! That hinges on effective writing and comfort with open communication. The bulk of our work is written. We do require that your normal workday has at least 6 hours overlap with the Melbourne workday without impinging on your personal/family life.


In this role, you'll get the chance to:

  • Drive large, complex projects autonomously, from technical design to launch
  • Determine plans-of-attack on large projects
  • Tackle complex architecture challenges, apply architectural standards and start using them on new projects
  • Lead code reviews & documentation as well as take on complex bug fixes, especially on high-risk problems
  • Set the standard for thorough, meaningful code reviews
  • Partner across engineering teams to take on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects
  • Transfer your depth of knowledge from your current language to excel as a Java developer.
  • Mentor more junior members
 About your skills:

  • +7 years experience working as a senior backend developer working with Node and Typescript. 
  • +3 Years experience in design and build microservices
  • Experience in testing systems such as unit, integration, smoke, performance, security is required.
  • Prior proven Experience in AWS ECS, Docker, Fargate or Kubernetes is required.
  • Prior experience in Lambda and serverless framework is required.
  • Having certification in any AWS services as a Developer, SysOps or Architecture is a plus
  • Strong experience in RDS (Postgres) and DynamoDb is required.
  • Strong Technical Skills in setting up & maintaining CI/CD & Pipeline solutions and Bash scripts and python
  • Prior experience in any Video streaming or development pipeline is a plus.
  • Experience in setting up System and application monitoring experience a plus (e.g. ELK, InfluxDB/Prometheus, Ganglia, Grafana, etc).
  • Knowledge in configuring proxy servers like NGINX
  • Knowledge of dockerizing applications and developing modern workflows.
  • Clear focus on the Stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Strong and enthusiastic technologist, able to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of Agile practices, especially Scrum is a must.
  • Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Database Design, and XML Schema.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
